To produce a list of products that have not been sold this calendar year, we can setup a report in Report Generator. To do this, go into Report Generator, and click on the New button to create a New Report. Then give the report an appropriate name. Then proceed with the following:
Print List
- Product ID (from the Product Table)
- Product Description (from the Product Table)
- Total Stock On Hand (from the Product Table) if desired
- Last Sale Date (from the Product Table) if desired
Sort List
- Total SOH (from the Product Table)
Qualify List
- Total YTD Units (from the Product Table) IS FROM 0 TO 0
REPORT VARIATIONS:
Summary
The report above is based on a Detail Report. To change the report so that you only see summarised figures, and not show detail about each product, do the following:
- Go into Report Setup (… box next to report name in Edit Mode)
- In Detail drop down list, select “Summary (Totals Only)”
- Click OK to save and go back to Edit Mode.
NOTE: This will ONLY work if you have a numeric field that will output on the Report, and the field is set (in the Print List) to Total or Sub Total. A field like Total Stock on Hand would work, as it’s a numeric field. If the report does not contain this kind of field, it will output nothing.
Top 100
To summarise this report in a different way, for example only showing the Top 100 products that have not sold, do the following:
- Go into Report Setup (… box next to report name in Edit Mode)
- Tick the Max Lines tick box.
- Enter the number of Maximum Lines you wish to display.
- Click OK to save.
Note: This is based on the first item in your sort list. For instance, if the first item in your sort list is the Last Sale Date, it will only show the top 100 lines based on that field.
