Export / Import Utility

A change has been made to the Export / Import Utility screen. Exports are now able to be created and stored for repeated use. New options are now available on the Export / Import utility screen. These options are called ‘Stored Export’ and there is one for each of the export types; Product, Customer and Supplier.

 Export Import Utiltity

To create, edit or use a stored export select the ‘Stored Export’ option for the export type you require. This will launch the ‘Stored Export Maintenance’ screen for the export type you are using. Each export type has its own maintenance screen with a unique list of stored exports. The list will show the following information;

  • Export name – this is the name that has been given to the export when it was created. 
  • Created – this will display the username that created the export as well as the date and time the export was created. 
  • Last Modified – this will display the username that last modified the export as well as the date and time the export was last modified. 
  • Last Run – this will display the username that last ran the export as well as the date and time the export was last run.

The buttons at the bottom of the screen determine what is to be done with an export. The option are:

  • Run – selecting this will run the highlighted export. 
  • Edit – selecting this will open the highlighted export in edit mode for modifications to be made. 
  • New – selecting this will open the ‘Export Utility’ screen to be able to create a new stored export.
  • Delete – selecting this will delete the highlighted export. 
  • Quit – selecting this will close the screen.

 Stored Exports

When creating a new export or editing an existing stored export the ‘ Export Utility’ screen will be launched. This screen allows for exports to be created, run, edited and stored. Each export has two names these are;

  • File name – this is the name of the file that will be created when the export is run. This must end in ‘.txt’.
  • Export Name – this is the name that the export will be listed under in the ‘Stored Export Maintenance’ screen.

This screen has three buttons their functions are;

  • Run – this will store the changes to the export and run it.
  • OK – this will store the configured export or changes that have been made to the export for future use.
  • Cancel – this will discard all changes that have been made to the export.
