The Security Maintenance function in ACR has been redesigned. Security Maintenance is used to make setting Menu Security on your menus easier and faster.
Users can select a menu Item from the left hand side of the screen under the Menu Items list. Once selected, they can then select the desired Menu Security for this item.
User Groups selected are from what has been defined by your company under User Group Maintenance. Users are then assigned to certain groups in User Maintenance.
The available Security Settings (Permissions), in order of precedence from lowest to highest, are as follows:
0 – Not Defined – The default setting
1 – Do Not Allow – Don’t allow access
2 – Display – Allow access for Display
3 – Edit – Allow access for Display and Edit
4 – Add – Allow access for Display, Edit and New
5 – Delete – Allow unrestricted access
6 – No access – Don’t allow access (Be very careful with this item)
The following features in this screen are outlined below:
Disable
This gives users the ability to temporarily disable the current Menu Security if desired.
Pass Prompt
If this is selected, users that are part of that user group will need to re-enter their password in order to access that menu item.
Copy
Selecting this will set the currently selected menu item as the “copy from”.
Paste
Once users have ‘set’ a copy from format, they can then select another Menu Item, and click Paste to paste the current menu permissions from the copy from menu item to the currently selected menu item.
Add User Group
This allows another User Group to be added to the Menu Items Menu Security selections.
Remove User Group
This allows a User Group to be removed from the Menu Items Menu Security selections.
Save
This gives users the opportunity to save Menu Security as it stands. If users attempt to change to something else and they have not saved, the system will prompt them to save.
Security Summary
This allows users to view the Menu Security set for the currently selected Menu Item.
This screen is read only and users cannot edit in this area.
Users can sort by any of the column headings. This will also allow the user to see if a User is not part of a user group.
