Sometimes it is necessary for a company to change its Internet technology, provider or address. This may be done because of service improvement, cost-cutting or necessity such as changing to NBN.
It can be easy to forget the services and servers at your premises that rely on the Internet, these may be systems like backup services, IP phones or business software. Your ACR server also relies on the Internet for updates, configuration and backups.
As part of internet connectivity to ACR’s office and cloud services, it is necessary to open what’s called IP Ports on the network router that provides Internet to your premises. An IP port is like an open channel to your server from the cloud or ACR office and allows us to transmit electronic orders, updates and data through these channels.
It is important to let us know when you change Internet provider or router so we can arrange to re-establish these IP ports to allow connectivity to the ACR cloud and head office for ongoing support and to reduce risk of downtime.
