In light of the recent change to Employee Personal/Carers Leave Entitlements handed down by the Federal Court, the below changes to Employee Entitlements and Payroll Entry have been put in place:
Users now have the ability to change the Personal/Carer’s Leave entitlements column from Days to Hours (and vice versa) per Employee. It is extremely important to note if you do so you will need to manually calculate and enter the balances.
To accompany this change, for any Payroll batch input with an Employee that has the Personal/Carers set to ‘Days’ (opposed to hours), a new field denoting the ‘Weeks of Service’ will need to be filled.
Example:
If the Pay Period is for a normal fortnight, a ‘2’ will be entered to show the employees pay is over two weeks.
Important:
- This field will automatically fill if the Period falls in a weekly/fortnightly/monthly range.
- This field can be left blank when performing a batch that must not accrue (eg when performing a reversal/adjustment)
When completing the Payroll Entry and keying in the Hours, for a Personal Carers Leave allocation set to taken/both (on an Employee set to ‘Days’), a pop up box will prompt the Operator to key in how many days are to be taken.
