Scheduling Downtime

There are times when the ACR server will need to be shut down at a predetermined time. Some of these reasons can include moving the server to a new location, general server maintenance, planned power outages, installation of a UPS and more.

When planned downtime is required, it is important that the Tech team at ACR is notified in advance. This will give us the ability to prepare the server to be turned off.

Things to check prior to power off:

  • Contact the ACR tech support team at least 24 hours before the planned outage. This will allow enough time to ensure backup integrity.
  • When the outage is an emergency, please contact the ACR tech support team at least 10 minutes before the interruption.
  • USB Backup hard drive has been unplugged.

If physically moving server:

  • Take a photo of rear of server that is clear enough to see cable connections.
  • Take note of which cables are connected to the server.
  • Server has been completely powered off before moving.

Before Powering Up:

Check all cables are connected in their original positions.

Things to check after power off:

  • Server has been powered back on.
  • Contact ACR Tech Support to verify server is running as expected.
  • Reconnect the USB backup drive when instructed by the ACR tech support team.

IMPORTANT: Do not log into ACR until the Tech Team has been contacted and give the all clear.
