Key Software Updates for SalesTalk

The ACR SalesTalk app goes through a continuous improvement and development process. This includes not only bug-fix and feature enhancement updates, but also iPad OS (the iPad iOS operating system) and cloud integrations.

It is critical that your SalesTalk iPad fleet is kept up-to-date. This includes ensuring your devices are running a supported iPad operating system as well as keeping the ACR SalesTalk app current.

The current minimum iPad OS supported by ACR is version 15.5. Apple provides a comprehensive list of supported iPad models, which at the time of writing can be found at https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/ipad/ipad213a25b2/15.0/ipados/15.0

Running an iPad on an unsupported iPad OS version not only compromises application features, but also poses data security risks.

The ACR SalesTalk application is rigorously tested and piloted to ensure smooth operation of the latest version. Keeping the app up-to-date on your fleet of iPads will ensure your customers and mobile sales team have the best experience possible with the app.

Running an iPad with an old version of SalesTalk compromises ACR’s support of your sales team.

How to keep up-to-date? Simple…

  • Enable App Store updates – on the iPad turn on this setting… Settings -> App Store -> App Updates
  • Regularly, say once per month check for OS updates… Settings -> General -> Software Updates

It’s worth noting that Apple releases a new major iPad OS around September every year. Major updates will contain many new operating features and the initial version has potential to be buggy. Apple tends to provide a minor release 1 update about 4 weeks after an initial major iPad OS release. ACR strongly recommends that you DO NOT update your iPad fleet with the initial major release (eg version 17), but rather wait until version 17.1.
