Managing your Print Queue within ACR

Printers are a wonderful piece of technology that has saved us all from endless hours of handwriting. While they are usually good when it comes to working, you may find sometimes that the printer just won’t print.

When a printer doesn’t do what it’s meant to do, troubleshooting begins. The most common problem that we face is that print jobs can get stuck in the queue. The good thing about this is that there is any easy way to check this within ACR.

Within ACR, under the heading ‘Toolbox’, select ‘Print Spooling System”. Then select ‘Spooler Engine’. From this screen, looking at the printer status and the time of the print is a good indication if a print job is stuck in the printer queue or not. If there is a stuck job, select the corresponding job, and select ‘Delete’.

After this print job is removed from the queue, the next print job in the queue will usually begin to print out. For label printers, the print server attached to the back of the printer and the label printer itself are recommended to be turned off before clearing the queue as they’re a little dumb and tend to just keep printing.
