Your ACR Server and Major Environmental Events

With the recent bad weather and risks of bushfires, floods, or other natural disasters it is a good idea to ensure that you have a functioning UPS battery backup that is no older than 5 years old, and well maintained.

In the event that your office/warehouse loses power and it appears that the power is going to be out for a few hours then it is best to either shut down your ACR server or by calling ACR tech support to have us manually shut it down.

In the event of a natural disaster, if you have been given an evacuation warning or are aware of any hazards that may affect your ACR server it is best to call ACR tech support so we can perform a manual backup. This will help you avoid data loss in the event that your server is destroyed or damaged.

It advisable to ensure that you keep at least one backup USB disk off site preferably with the previous night’s backups.

If you are located in an area at high risk of natural disasters or bush fire, adding a ‘Call ACR to backup server’ to your pre-evacuation procedures check list might be worth the 60 second phone call.
