Web Category Maintenance is used to categorise products into categories in order to maintain a website.
Users can use the top section to create/maintain Web Categories (This section is like the Menu Maintenance screen).
- Add – Clicking on Add will add a Category, at which point the users can give it a name.
- Remove – Clicking Remove will remove the selected Category.
- Move Up – Moves the selected Category up a slot in the same ‘level’.
- Move Down – Moves the selected Category down a slot in the same ‘level’.
- Move Left – Moves the selected Category up a level (to a higher level).
The bottom section is used to add or remove Products to selected Web Categories. Once a category is selected, users can use the following:
- Add – Users can search for a product they wish to add to that category
Note: Adding a Product will automatically set ‘Web Output’ for that product to being ticked.
- Remove – Users can remove that product from that category.
Note: Removing a Product (so long as that Product is not attached to any other Web Categories) will automatically set the ‘Web Output’ for that Product to being unticked.
- Web Data – Users can view the current Web Data for the selected product.
Note: The ‘Web Output’ field on this screen is also modifiable per product.
IMPORTANT:
- Web Categories cannot have a depth of more than 6 levels. i.e. Web Categories cannot have more than 5 Web Categories above it.
- Products cannot be attached to more than 2 Web Categories. Web Categories cannot be removed if there are Products attached to it, or to any Web Category below it.
