The ACR server is a complex piece of hardware that allows for the constant processing of orders and data storage of all the critical information for your business, and therefore should be kept in the best condition for prolonged usage. Due to the nature of how computers/servers work, they tend to get quite hot internally hence why they have so many fans running to keep them cool. However if the server is in a restrictive part of the building, where there could be lots of dust or poor circulation, then there is a higher chance of failure of one or more of the components inside the server itself.
Keeping the server in an area with good circulation and away from pollutants is a must as it could easily intake poor materials (dust particles for example) and increase the likelihood of catastrophic failure to the internals of the system. We recommend making sure the environment in which the server is stored is kept to the same high standard you would employ to the rest of your building.
On this note however, the chance of servers failing due to age and other factors increase as the years go on and we personally recommend that the servers are upgraded at around the five year mark. The warranty on these servers expire at that point so it will be difficult and sometimes impossible to replace parts in older servers due to the ever changing nature of technology. As an added bonus, there is a significant speed increase of putting a shiny new server in to replace an older one and the added piece of mind of taking parts failure off the table is always a happy one.
