Task Controller – are you in Control?

The Task Controller program is designed to allow users to manage and control upcoming jobs, “things to do” and tasks. These “tasks” may be assigned to a User or a User Group, so upon login, these tasks will be displayed to the relevant user/s if the task is due that day, or if it is overdue. Users are also able to set reminders to act on upcoming tasks, and the user will be prompted again at login.

A common example users would find this function working for is the Debtor Followup System, after users enter details about the contact with the customer regarding their account etc, then a task can be created ie  a date to follow up on with an amount for collection, this can then be scheduled as a reminder task (If the system is configured accordingly). Single users can be selected to receive the reminders, or a user group. When configured and active (Task Controller Configuration) the Debtors Follow Up System will create a task each time a new Action Date has been set for a customer. If a Payment is then made and the Payment Amount is equal or greater than the follow up Debt Amount the task will be automatically deleted.

Users can open Task Controller directly from the menu and from within your Desktop Functions (Shift+F4).

Upon entering the Task Controller, all incomplete tasks owned by the user currently logged in will be displayed. This list will be displayed in the order of oldest to newest task. The user may also select to show the tasks created by only him/herself, or s/he may choose to display only completed tasks. The order in which the tasks are displayed may be changed simply by clicking on the heading at the top of each column.

From this screen the user may also create new tasks or view and modify existing tasks. This can be achieved simply by selecting the task and clicking the Details button.

A task is considered “owned” by a user if the task has been set to be owned by the user or to be owned by that User’s group. The Administrator is considered to “own” all tasks. Therefore Administrators can view or modify all tasks, including accessing the Task Controller Configuration screen.
